Human Resources

We value our people and are cognizant of the contribution they make to our company. It is our people who drive the equipment but more importantly, they drive the growth and success that makes Humber Valley Paving and Humber Valley Aggregate and Asphalt industry leaders. Our goal is to continue to build and maintain a culture of mutual respect where the efforts of both the employer and the employees are valued and appreciated.

Our commitment to our people is reflected in our investment in our Human Resources Department which is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that our corporate culture is supportive of 'best practice' human resources policies and procedures which subsequently are reflected in our workplaces. Humber Valley Paving/Humber Valley Aggregate and Asphalt have a defined Code of Conduct which governs our business practices and ensures compliance with the Competition Act.

The goals of our Human Resources Department are clearly mandated.

GOAL 1: Provision of an integrated, cost-efficient, systemic approach to labour management to ensure team members are compensated equitably.

GOAL 2: Commitment to the provision of safe and healthy workplaces.

GOAL 3: Provision of applicable training to ensure that HVP/HVAA staff members have the skills and information they need to succeed.

GOAL 4: Recognition of team members' contributions, successes and achievements.

GOAL 5: Recruitment and retention of a skilled workforce.

GOAL 6: Fulfillment of Human Resources Departmental operational mandates.
In addition to these traditional human resources goals, the HVP/HVAA Human Resources Department plays a strategic role in the company, linking human resources with company goals and objectives, in order to improve business performance and to develop an organizational culture that fosters innovation, productivity and competitive advantage.
